Super Lawyers – For the First Time, and Again!

Ira Meislik, the law firm’s managing principal, and Karen E. Abrams, senior attorney with the law firm of Meislik & Meislik, have both been selected to be listed among the New Jersey Super Lawyers listing published inside the April 2011 issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine. Ira Meislik has been included in the Real Estate category each year since the Super Lawyer’s designation first appeared in New Jersey. This is the first time Karen Abrams has been designated a New Jersey Super Lawyer, and she is thrilled to be included among so many extremely talented attorneys!

The Super Lawyer designation process employs a rigorous, multiphase process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Ira Meislik has been frequently recognized for his professional achievements. In 2010, Mr. Meislik was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers In America®. In the United States, Best Lawyers compiles lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The 2010 selections were based on more than 2.8 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers. Mr. Meislik was also appointed to the Uniform Law Commission’s Joint Editorial Board (JEB) for Real Property Acts. The JEB is responsible for monitoring new real property developments which may have an impact on Uniform State Laws and for making recommendations to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) for drafting new, proposed state laws. The JEB consists of eleven members drawn from the Uniform Laws Commission, the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. In addition, in 2009 he was singled out by Real Estate New Jersey magazine as one of the Garden State’s top real estate attorneys. Ira Meislik’s practice is concentrated in two areas – Business Law and Commercial Real Estate Law. His commercial real estate practice focuses on the needs of landlords and tenants primarily within shopping centers and office properties. In addition, he has extensive experience in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of real property. His business law practice covers general business, commercial, and transac¬tion¬al matters. In this area, he provides business counseling advice and handles business formations, acquisitions, mergers, and contracts.

Karen Abrams is a senior attorney at Meislik & Meislik. Her practice includes a broad range of leasing and commercial real estate transactions. She has extensive experience in crafting and negotiating commercial leases, representing local, regional, and national commercial landlords, tenants, and brokers with respect to both office and retail space.
