Published: April 16, 2007

“Crafting the Bankruptcy Remote, Special Purpose (SPE) LLC” was the somewhat esoteric topic of a program put together by Meislik & Meislik’s Ira Meislik for the Spring Meeting of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section. Joined by three other distinguished speakers, Mr. Meislik described the borrowing framework within which such limited liability companies are employed and the goals and objectives achieved by employing such entities. More than 100 attorneys from all over the United States and Canada attended the two hour program in the nation’s capital.

Ira Meislik is an active member of the Business Law Section’s Partnership and Unincorporated Business Organizations Committee and serves on several of its subcommittee’s. He is a contributor to a number of publications dealing with alternative entities, including recent ones from the American Bar Association presenting Prototype Limited Partnership Agreements and Prototype Limited Liability Company Agreements.
