Mark Morfopoulos Hits The Newsstands

Published: December 16, 2008

December, 2008 is a banner month for Mark Morfopoulos, an attorney with the Montclair, New Jersey law firm of Meislik & Meislik. He authored three real estate themed articles in three different publications and, on top of that, he wrote a featured law management article in another.

Retail Law Strategist, the monthly “Problem-Solving Tool for Retail Law,” published by the International Council of Shopping Centers is featuring Mark’s “The Art of a Municipality Convincing a Utility Company to Relocate Its Lines to Underground Locations” in its December, 2008 edition. In this article, Mark discusses the sources to investigate to determine who is responsible for the work and who is to pay, and then gives practical advice as to how to get the job done.

Mark’s “Attention All Counsel: Consider Ordering Title Searches” is a warning to leasing attorneys to obtain title reports before completing a tenant’s lease. It was posted on December 15 to the Online Version of Commercial Lease Law Insider, a publication of the Vendome Group. It this article, Mr. Morfopoulos highlights a warning given to attorneys by a New Jersey appellate court.

The first installment of a two-part article: “Tenants Beware! Lenders Rewrite Leases Through SNDA Agreements” can be found in the December, 2008 edition of Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy, a monthly publication for real property leasing professionals published by Law Journal Newsletters. The second installment will appear in the January edition. This is a “don’t miss” guide to the ins and outs of a tenant’s negotiating an SNDA with a lender. No one should miss reading it.

Lastly, look for “Professionalism Is An Asset” in the December 15, 2008 edition of New Jersey Law Journal. This is the feature management article in this weekly newspaper published for New Jersey Lawyers by American Law Media. In it, Mark Morfopoulos makes the point: “Being professional, courteous, and prepared is always the best way to represent any client.”
