Karen Abrams and Mark Morfopoulos, Speak at Shopping Center Law Conference

Published: November 16, 2009 | E-Mail

Karen Abrams and Mark Morfopoulos each hosted a Breakfast Roundtable at the U.S. Shopping Center Law Conference held by the International Council of Shopping Centers in Phoenix, Arizona.

Karen Abrams, a member of the Retail Real Estate Law team at Meislik & Meislik explored an often confusing and conflicted area: “First Rights” in leases. Often thought of solely in terms of “Rights of First Refusal,” Karen discussed variants to “First Refusal” rights, such as Rights of First Offer and Rights of First Negotiation.

Mark Morfopoulos, who is also a member of the Retail Real Estate Law team at Meislik & Meislik, discussed “Tenant Pitfalls When Signing SNDA Agreements.” His thoughts on the subject can be found in his in-depth article in the December 2008 and January 2009 issues of the Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy, an ALM Properties, Inc. publication.
