Ira Meislik Addresses the Inn of Transactional Counsel

Published: October 12, 2011

On October 11, 2011, Ira Meislik appeared before the Essex-Morris County chapter of the Inn of Transactional Counsel, explaining the ins and outs of insurance and what attorneys need to know, but don’t know, about this topic. In addition to addressing such opaque concepts as contractual liability insurance, loss payee status, waivers of subrogation, and the uselessness of certificates of insurance, Mr. Meislik was peppered with dozens of questions peppered from an enthusiastic audience. The Inn, formed in 2001, consists of a group of New Jersey’s prominent business lawyers and was formed for the mentoring of beginning attorneys. The program is designed to develop lawyering skills in the next generation of the New Jersey Bar. According to the Inn’s leaders, Mr. Meislik’s presentation was the best one ever presented to the Inn. A similar program was presented earlier in 2011 to the Bergen-Hudson chapter of this organization.
