Published: November 18, 2009

Every transactional attorney must be aware of the ethical issues unique to the areas of law in which they practice. On November 17, 2009, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education presented its 2009 program on the topic of Legal Ethics for Transactional Lawyers. The room at the Renaissance Hotel in Woodbridge, New Jersey was was packed. Ira Meislik, managing principal of the Montclair, New Jersey law firm of Meislik & Meislik, was the featured speaker covering Real Estate issues.

In 2009 alone, Mr. Meislik was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers In America® and as a New Jersey Super Lawyer. In the United States, Best Lawyers compiles lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The 2010 Super Lawyer selections were based on more than 2.8 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers. The Super Lawyer designation process employs a rigorous, multiphase process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. In addition, he was singled out by Real Estate New Jersey magazine as one of the Garden State’s top real estate attorneys. The complete article appears in its May/June 2009 edition. Also in 2009, Ira Meislik was named as part of a select group of 176 attorneys — The BTI Client Service All-Star Team — for delivering the absolute best client service to Fortune 1000 clients.
