Ground Leasing Explained

Published: March 25, 2005 | E-Mail

Ira Meislik has drawn together a panel of leading real estate attorneys to present a 75 minute program covering significant issues in ground leasing. The program to be presented on Friday, October 1, 2005 at the New York Waldorf Astoria will cover basic ground lease drafting, making leases financeable, reversion, treatment in bankruptcy, title insurability, insurance and reconstruction, and recognition agreements. As part of the Fall meeting of American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), of which Ira Meislik is a member, the program will be attended by more than 300 of the most respected real estate attorneys in the country. Membership in ACREL is by invitation only; there is accordingly no application process. Prospective members are elected by the membership at large only after nomination initiated by existing College members. Nomination must be based on an outstanding professional reputation and demonstrated ability in the field of real estate law. It must also be based on at least 10 years of substantial experience in real estate law and substantial contributions to the improvement of real estate law and practice, and creating a more informed bar and public in these matters, through writing, teaching, bar or legislative activities or other public service. More information about ACREL can be found on its web site at www.acrel.org.
