Ira Meislik is Insider Source for Article on Obsolete Insurance Terms

The June, 2013 edition of Commercial Lease Law Insider looked to Ira Meislik as the source for its feature article: “Delete Obsolete Insurance Terms from Your Lease Vocabulary.” Too often landlords and tenants make the mistake of asking for outdated terms in their new leases, leading to potentially costly disputes and unintended results. Hear Ira Meislik Discuss Insurance Issues on CRE Radio

Howard Kline, the host of CRE Radio, has invited Ira Meislik of the law firm of Meislik & Meislik to return to the air with him on Friday, April 26, 2013. The show’s topic will be the use of insurance in commercial leasing transactions, especially focusing on the kind of available coverages that should be considered when the lease is written. Mr. Meislik will be joined by David Ezra, a principal in the Berger Kahn law firm’s office in Orange County office. Mr. Ezra has more than 20 years of experience successfully representing clients involved in insurance coverage.

Ira Meislik has negotiated more than a thousand commercial leases for more than 20 million square feet of space. Ira Meislik Invited to Speak at 2013 Shopping Center Law Conference

Ira Meislik has been invited back to speak at the 2013 Shopping Center Law Conference sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers. This year’s Conference will be held in San Diego, California from October 16 through October 19, 2013. His presentation will be as part of a workshop: “The Roof is on Fire: A Practical Look at Best Practices In Dealing With Casualty Damage, the Landlord and Tenant, and the Insurance Company.” Expected to draw up to 150 attendees, Ira Meislik will be joined in the workshop by John Kim, Corporate Counsel at the Westfield Group. Attendees should expect a vigorous discussion about the difference between one’s expectations about a “theoretical” fire or other casualty and what to expect when the “peril” does its damage.
