Karen Meislik, a principal in Meislik & Meislik, specializing in family law, received the prestigious 2007 Partner in Hope award from Partners for Women and Justice. This award is given annually to individuals who have generously lent this non-profit organization their expertise and, in doing so, challenged Partners for Women in ways that have helped that organization make its programs stronger.
Partners for Women and Justice is dedicated to effecting positive changes in the lives of low income and abused women. It supports the empowerment of women by promoting equal access to justice in family law and related matters, by promoting financial competence, and by advancing policies that make our society more responsive to the issues facing vulnerable and underserved women.
Karen Meislik volunteers at mPower Legal Clinics, providing advice and support to abused and underserved women, guiding them through the custody, divorce, separation, and support systems and judicial process. In addition to her work with Partners for Women and Justice, Ms. Meislik volunteers with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice and Women’s Resource Center – Ask a Lawyer program, as well as with St. Barnabas Hospital Hospice.
