Ira Meislik to Present at “Hot Topics in Shopping Center Leasing” Program

Shopping center leasing deals most often start with a letter of intent, but these “term sheets” can serve to either move a deal along or set it down a sidetrack. On June 3, 2014, as part of a 3-1/2 hour continuing legal education program for attorneys who craft shopping center leases, Ira Meislik of the Montclair, New Jersey law firm of Meislik & Meislik, will lead off by revealing the good, bad, and the ugly about leasing letters of intent.

Mr. Meislik has been engaged in the practice of retail real estate law for almost 30 years and has been involved in more than a thousand leasing transactions. Based on that experience, he will be discussing such topics as the benefits and shortcomings of “deal sheets,” whether they should be terse or overflowing with detail, what they should contain, and what they shouldn’t contain. In conjunction with his presentation, he has prepared materials of about 60 pages, including a variety of sample letters of intent.

The “Hot Topics in Shopping Center Leasing” program in sponsored by the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education and will take place from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2014 at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, New Jersey.
